Microparticle formulations alter the toxicity of fenofibrate to the zebrafish Danio rerio embryo

چکیده
A wide variety of active pharmaceutical ingredients are released into the environment and pose a threat to aquatic organisms. Drug products using micro- nanoparticle technology can lower these emissions by their increased bioavailability human patients. However, due this enhanced efficacy, nanoscale drug delivery systems potentially display an even higher toxicity, thus also risk non-target Fenofibrate is lipid-regulating agent exhibits species-related hazards in fish. The ecotoxic effects fenofibrate formulation embedded hydroxypropyl methylcellulose microparticle matrix, as well those excipients used process, were evaluated. To compare without formulation, was dispersed diluted ISO water alone or dissolved solvent DMF then added water. various treatments assessed fish embryo toxicity test, acridine orange staining gene expression analysis quantitative RT polymerase chain reaction. Danio Rerio, the Zebrafish
The zebrafish has long been a favourite model for the study of vertebrate development. Here we provide an overview of the current state of knowledge and resources for the study of this fish, with comments on the future direction of zebrafish genomics from Professor Mark Fishman and Dr Stephen Wilson.
متن کاملProteomic Signatures of the Zebrafish (Danio rerio) Embryo: Sensitivity and Specificity in Toxicity Assessment of Chemicals
Studies using embryos of the zebrafish Danio rerio (DarT) instead of adult fish for characterising the (eco-) toxic potential of chemicals have been proposed as animal replacing methods. Effect analysis at the molecular level might enhance sensitivity, specificity, and predictive value of the embryonal studies. The present paper aimed to test the potential of toxicoproteomics with zebrafish ele...
متن کاملThe Toxicity of Perfluoroalkyl Acids in Zebrafish (Danio rerio)
Cover: A whole-body autoradiogram of female zebrafish (Danio rerio) 10 day after exposure to 14 C-PFOA (above) and the corresponding section of the same fish (below) Abstract Perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) are globally distributed synthetic chemicals. Their unique properties make them widely used, in industry and elsewhere. These are a group of compounds with varying carbon chain lengths and func...
متن کاملEvaluation of of the performance of the zebrafish (Danio rerio) model in nanotoxicology studies with emphasis on embryo pathology
The present study was conducted to evaluate the performance of zebrafish (Danio rerio) as a model in embryo and fetal pathology in nanotoxicology studies. Examination of the sources showed that it is possible to completely inhibit hatching and fetal death when exposed to nanoparticles, because nanoparticles interact with hatching enzymes. Zebrafish embryo developmental abnormalities have been s...
متن کاملCYP1B1 knockdown does not alter synergistic developmental toxicity of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in zebrafish (Danio rerio).
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are contaminants increasing in the environment largely due to burning of fossil fuels. Our previous work identified a synergistic toxicity interaction in zebrafish embryos occurring when PAHs that are agonists for the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) co-occur with PAHs that are CYP1A inhibitors. This toxicity is mediated by the AHR2, and morpholino knockdo...
